Personally I prefer ultimogeniture as it results in longer reigns. Primo or Ultimo are generally the more useful for kingdom/empires, primo being oldest son, ultimo being youngest. Also this won't work on Muslim Religions or Merchant Republic for the Gender Succession law is hard coded.In normal it only needed legalism 2 but you need to have high realm auth or whatever its called which was hard as hell to get voted for in larger kingdoms unless you were the defender of a holy war and got the +75 opinion to all buff.Ĭonclave is 100x easier to sort successions laws thanks to the legalism 3 late administration law.Īs for "best succession laws" there is no strict "best" there are only "worse" laws, like any form of gavelkind.Įlective monarchy is an easy win on smaller nations like dukes and tiny kingdoms where you own all the land and thus are the only voter so its probably the best at that stage.
